Logan University’s Ed.D. Program Transitioning to Seven-Week Course Format

Starting in May 2025, Logan University’s Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) for Health Professions Education will launch seven-week courses. The shift from the current 15-week course format to a seven-week format aims to provide a faster path to program completion while providing a more structured and focused schedule. “The new format is essential, as nearly all of our Ed.D. students work full time,” said Laura Rauscher, PhD, director for Logan’s Ed.D. program. “Students will be able to complete their degrees more efficiently while still meeting the necessary learning outcomes.” The new course format will allow full-time students to complete the Ed.D. …

Logan University’s MSSSR Program Transitioning to Seven-Week Course Format in January 2025

Logan University’s Master of Science in Sports Science and Rehabilitation (MSSSR) program is moving from 15-week courses to seven-week courses in January 2025, making it more time effective for students. “This accelerated degree format will allow our full-time students to complete the program in just one year and move forward with their certification and career goals,” said Brittany Ramirez, DC (’15), MS (’18), LAT, ATC, CCSP®, program director for Logan’s MSSSR program. “This change also ensures that our MSSSR program stays competitive within the field.” Full-time students will take two courses every seven-week session, completing the program in one year. …

Speech-Language Pathologist Leads by Example, Elevates Teaching Skills with Ed.D. Degree

Carrie Axt, MA, CCC-SLP, a speech-language pathologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience, is now working on her Doctor of Education in Health Professions Education (Ed.D.) degree at Logan University. Carrie’s journey began at the University of North Dakota, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders in 2001. Division I Collegiate Athlete Aspires to Become Coach with MS-SC from Logan

Mason Melancon, a former NCAA Division I collegiate athlete, is pursuing his Master of Science in Strength and Conditioning (MS-SC) at Logan University with the goal of transitioning from athlete to coach. Originally from Houston, Melancon competed as a sprinter in the 100-meter and 200-meter events and was an integral part of the 4×100-meter and 4×400-meter relay teams at Louisiana Tech University and the University of New Orleans (UNO).
